Biography
Michael joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston in January 2019 as Director of Program Services. He is responsible for all program services, inclusive of traditional and shared space programming, as well as program outcomes, and program development.
Before joining BGCGH, Michael spent over a decade designing and implementing student support programs as a central office administrator in local area school districts. Programs Michael supported in schools include special education, Section 504, response to intervention, English Language Learners (ELL), restorative practices, and social-emotional learning. Prior to his central office roles, Michael spent over five years as a classroom English/Reading teacher in high school and middle school.
Michael brings a wealth of knowledge around education, youth development, and social-emotional learning. Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Texas Southern University and a Master's of Arts in Education from Prairie View A & M University.
