Biography
Clifford previously served as Director of Organizational Development for the Boys & Girls Club of America. Clifford utilizes his vast experience and consultant skills to assist leaders to perform at their best and to believe in what is possibe which is to increase performance and navigate organizational change to improve positioning and effectiveness. He is focused on inspiring and empowering Boys & Girls Club organizations to achieve success and champion opportunities for all young people in America, especially those who need us the most. Supporting/helping professional and volunteer leaders to Create the strongest Clubs possible and provide the Best Experience for Youth by focusing on four priorities…Strengthen Organizations, Improving Program Quality, Advocate for Youth and Reach More Youth. Prior to joining BGCA, Clifford served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for the United Way of Southwest Alabama. In this capacity, he provided leadership and guided organizational development to achieved long term, sustainable revenue growth; community impact that changes lives for generations and positioned United Way as a major philanthropic leader in southwest Alabama communities. Clifford has held senior level positions in United Way organizations throughout the United States, in fund distribution and community initiatives to resource development, agency relations and community planning. He has received numerous awards and honors from both governmental and not-for-profit organizations, and has led/presented at numerous conferences and workshops nationwide. As a skilled fundraiser and strategic problem-solver, he led organizational development efforts - strengthen government relations, cultivated volunteer and donor relationships, increased and diversified revenue streams, prepared budgets, developed programs, built coalitions, recruited, coached, and managed talent, resolved conflicts, and invested United Way dollars in local initiatives that positively impact the lives of people in communities he has served.
