Spirit of Excellence Award 

The Spirt of Excellence award, in the Community Connection Champion category, was presented by Harris County Department of Education at their 2021-2022 End of Year Celebration. The award celebrates Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston’s (BGCGH) collaborations and partnerships with community members and organizations in a meaningful way that improves the quality of the out of school time Club experience for the youth in Harris County.

Hero for Youth Award

The Hero for Youth Award was presented by Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s (BGCA) new Club Advocacy Engagement Recognition Program. The award recognizes Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston’s (BGCGH) efforts and initiatives to ensure the youth they serve can access the experiences and opportunities they need to achieve Great Futures. Through their advocacy & strong partnerships with elected officials at the local, State, and Federal levels, Boys & Girls Clubs were able to deliver noteworthy funding and policy successes that had a positive impact on youth & communities.

Houston Texans “That Deserves A Crown” Recognition 

This award was presented by the Houston Texans and Crown Royal to Duane Percy, Lead Youth Development Specialist, Fort Bend Boys & Girls Club, at the October 31 home game at NRG Stadium. Duane was recognized for his passion and dedication to youth development making a positive impact in the community.

2021 Spring Branch ISD Good Neighbor

This award is presented by Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD). The recognition is awarded for the aligned belief that our local schools and communities are inextricably linked, with each dependent on the success of the other. As a Good Neighbor, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (BGCGH) shows its commitment to helping achieve T-2-4 success for every young person in the district. The T-2-4 initiative stresses the importance of ensuring each child in the school district pursues a specialty trade (T) or skill, a 2-year, or a 4-year college or university degree.

Statewide Outstanding Child Focused Non-Profit Award

This award is presented by Children At Risk, at Children At Risk Accolades: The Academy Award of Child Advocacy Luncheon for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston’s outstanding concentrated efforts on building greater futures for youth.

Community Partner of the Year Award

This award is presented by the Texas Alliance for Child and Family Services (TACFS). The award recognizes Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston’s work alongside TACFS in their mission to strengthen and continuously improve the services, practices, and care for at-risk children, youth, and families.

2021 Beacon of Hope and Opportunity Award

This award is presented by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), to former BGCGH Board Chairman, Julius Young Jr. at BGCA’s 2021 Southwest Regional Virtual Leadership Celebration. The award recognizes the exceptional service and impact on youth of a local board member.

Charity Navigator 4-star Rating

This award is presented by Charity Navigator. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston has been awarded the 4-star rating for nine (9) consecutive evaluations demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency.

This award is presented by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), to Kevin Hattery, President & CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (BGCGH), the highest honor for a Club professional in the Southwest region. This award recognizes Kevin Hattery’s leadership at BGCGH in achieving many milestones, including serving a record 26,000 youth across five counties.

Southwest Region Outstanding Resource Development Professional

This award is presented by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (BGCGH) Vice President of Development, Susy Smith.
